Students’ feedback on this class
In the last class, we asked students for their impressions and comments throughout the semester.Although it was optional, we received responses from about 70% of the students, so here are some of them.
● Fourth-year student in the Department of Law, Faculty of Law
Until I was given my midterm and final assignments, I had not been able to formulate a concrete path for my future.I kept agonizing over whether I wanted to work for an international organization or start my own business, but I was not sure if I really wanted to do so, and I was not sure if I could become such a person in the first place. In the midst of all this, I was able to meet Mr. Ishihara and Ms. Endo, who were role models in my life. However, while still somewhat lacking in confidence, I prepared a script for the assignment and voiced it out loud, and unexpectedl, I was surprised at how much I wanted to make it happen. To my own surprise, I realized that the subconscious WILL had always been there for several years.By putting them into words, I was able to make them apparent.
I think the challenge for the future is to maintain my motivation. As I enter the world of business, I will be busy with the work at hand, so I would like to recognize this fact and continue to willingly dive in, choosing an environment where there are people who continue to hold strong WILL.I would like to struggle to realize my two WILLs.
● Third-year student in the Department of Law, Faculty of Law
I have learned many things through this semester’s classes.I have the problem of being redundant in my speech, and this Negotiation Studies class has really helped me with that.Specifically, I gained a lot of skills in what to say, how to talk, how to approach, and how to develop a story, and I feel that I am one step closer to conveying what I want to say in a concise manner.
I also wanted to become a person who is recognized by everyone as a “leader” and overflowing with intrinsic human charm, rather than a naked king wearing only the crown for a “leader”.I also wanted to become a person who is recognized by everyone as a “leader” and overflowing with intrinsic human charm, rather than a naked king wearing only the crown for a “leader”.This was a wonderful class that gave me the opportunity to face myself once again and resolve to work hard on my self-improvement so that my circle of influence will spread throughout the world.
● Third-year student in the Department of Law, Faculty of Law
I was distressed by the fact that I had many opportunities to work with people I didn’t know because my seat was assigned. However, the pain led to my personal growth, and at the same time, it gave me pleasure. As a result, I was able to gain something that I would not have been able to gain in a lecture where I would only work with people I was familiar with.
● Fourth-year student in the Department of Law, Faculty of Law
I was not able to understand everything about “negotiation studies” in the short period, but I am grateful that I was able to learn something meaningful that everyone should keep in mind when living in a society.I have gained confidence and hope that I myself will be able to do a better job in interacting with others in my future life than someone who knows nothing about negotiation studies.I have gained confidence and hope that I myself will be able to do a better job in interacting with others in my future life than someone who knows nothing about negotiation studies.I have gained confidence and hope that I myself will be able to do a better job in interacting with others in my future life than someone who knows nothing about negotiation studies.
This is my fifth year at Keio University, and this was the most meaningful, interesting, and educational class I have ever attended.I am very glad that I chose this class in the spring of my senior year, when I was aware that I would be entering the working world.
● Third-year student, Faculty of Economics
I wanted to increase my experience in group work to debate the agenda in class, as I found the experience of debating through discussions in my English class in high school to be very rewarding.I was able to gain more than my objective by taking this course. Not only did I gain more experience in discussion, but I also learned the methodology of how to discuss issues and that leadership is not simply leading a team as a leader, and it was a great opportunity for me to consider the contribution I can make to society without making the Will just about me.It was my first time taking a course from another department and I was nervous, but I am glad I took it.
